          A Much Overdue Update…
:: Friday, July 16, 2004 ::Ok, so I lied when I said I was going to do a better job at keeping this site updated. Perhaps the most honest thing I should have said was simply that I would try, but even that wouldn’t be the truth. But for those of you still loyal and bored enough to check this site with some frequency, this update is for you. So please stop bugging me to update. Just kidding.

This weekend, I decided to get out of SD and go see Lan and Julie’s new apartment. I hadn’t gone up in a while and hadn’t seen Lan or Ted for months now. I figured if I waited for them to come down to visit me, well lets just say I’d be waiting for quite a while. I should have taken the 15N up, but for some reason unknown to me, call it a brain fart or whatever, I decided to brave the 5N on a Saturday afternoon – big mistake as it turned out. I hit patches of bad traffic the whole way up and even on the 57 and 60. In the end, it took me almost 2 hours to make the normally 1 hour and 20 minute drive. Yeah, not fun at all. Luckily I had a new CD to keep me company and random people to harass on the phone. As I was driving from SD, the temperature slowly climbed from 75 degrees all the way up to 90. Good lo it was hot! I feel sorry for everyone living in LA. SD by comparison was perfect. It felt like spring.

Anyway, once I met up with Lan-oi, we went to go see the Terminal, a movie I’ve wanted to see for a while because I see every Spielberg or Tom Hanks movie and I really liked their previous collaborations. I don’t want to give away any spoilers for those out there who might still go see it, and I strongly suggest people do so, but there’s this one scene in the movie with the exit door and video camera that was so hilarious, I seriously thought it was worth the price of admittance just for that. But the whole movie is filled with subtle humor and leaves you generally feeling good inside when its over. Afterwards we met up with Ted for dinner at Olive Garden across the street from Nela’s place coincidently. Then we all drove back to Lan’s place because Ted hadn’t yet seen it either. There I spent about an hour trying to fix Lan’s defunct wireless Ethernet but was force to give up due to fatigue and frustration. It was already past midnight and I thought it was time to head on home. I didn’t feel like fighting through Sunday traffic the next day.

On Sunday, the heat returned though with no where near the potency of the previous week. Still, it was adequate enough to immobilize me for the majority of the day. Finally in the afternoon, as the sun and the heat it brought began to wane, I got off my lazy keister and gave my room a much needed cleaning while my sister, her fiancé and my mom cleaned out the kitchen. My mom wanted me to bake cookies, something I’ve been promising her I’d do for the last two months (more laziness on my part) but it was still too hot for that. I guess I’ll do that today so she’ll finally stop bugging me. Oh I also played poker online for a couple of hours and made $20 in one hand. Not a lot of money I know but if you consider the blinds were 5 and 10 cents, well you get the idea. Anyway, that was one long post. Probably not all that interesting but it was the best I could do.

          A Conversation About Koreans...
:: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 ::Kris2fur: what are you talking about?
 isamu619: your profile
isamu619: the "im so korean" person with no friends
 Kris2fur: AHAHHA
isamu619: does your friend really have no friends?  hah
 Kris2fur: that stupid korean
 isamu619: i thought you didn't like koreans
isamu619: why are you talkin to one?
 Kris2fur: haha
Kris2fur: im not that much of a korean hater
Kris2fur: some are good and some are just korean
Kris2fur: you cant blame them for what they are
Kris2fur: its like those stupid dogs that shit in the house
Kris2fur: you cant blame the dog, really... its just the way they are
Kris2fur: you can try to teach it not to shit everywhere but in the end its all futile
 isamu619: im so quoting you
Kris2fur: are you laughing while youre doing it?
 isamu619: of course haha
Kris2fur: cause that's the real objective
 Kris2fur: laughter
 isamu619: well you've succeeded
Kris2fur: and of course any subject involving koreans ends in laughter

Ed note: Kris2fur also requested I introduce him to my friend's bridesmaid in the picture below. It should be known that this girl is my friend's 16 year old sister. I don't know if that has any relevence to the above conversation but I just thought it was humorous and slightly embarrassing and thought I would share it with all of you.

Jacked on the 4th of July...
:: Friday, July 02, 2004 ::Well if you haven't heard yet, I along with some of my other friends were bamboozled while celebrating our independence day innocently at the beach. To make a short and tragic story even shorter, they got my wallet, my cell phone and little else. I had two dollars to my name that day and the phone was a POS that didn't work right most of the time. I immediately cancelled all my credit cards, ATM card, phone and anything else I could think of. The real pain is merely the inconvenience of replacing everything. I spent this morning at the Cingular store, where there was a cute asian girl working I might add, and the DMV getting my replacement license. The one time I didn't keep my wallet on me (because I had trunks on) I get jacked. I suppose it could have been worse. Luckily I put my digicam and my sunglasses in my car when it got dark. Oh well, live and learn right? I've lost my wallet one other time before and this time was mild in comparison. But I don't think I'll ever go back to Mission Beach for the 4th. I've gone there twice and both times ended badly. *sigh*

          The Day I Long Feared...
Well this is it, the weekend my sister moves back home. *shudder* I suppose this gives me even more incentive to go to LA, that way I won't be subjected to constant pestering to unpack and move boxes all weekend. Instead I shall go up to the scene of another mass unpacking effort, namely Lan and Julie's new house which they moved into on Wednesday. Then from there, it will most likely be to Prey on Satuday night. The Mayan is on Sunday night, but I think that just might be a bit too crazy. I just want to dip my foot and remember how cool the water is, not dive into the deep end and drown but who knows what will happen. Anyway, I don't think I'll be posting again until after the 4th, so everyone have a fun and safe weekend. Remember to party responsibly, keep the blackouts to a minimum (*coughTHUYcough*) and don't drive drunk. Out.
